Less than a week after revealing that the fourth season of BBC’s hit detective drama Sherlock has begun shooting, Mark Gatiss, a co-showrunner, released the first image from the show on Monday.
Gatiss, who also plays Sherlock’s elder brother Mycroft Holmes in the show, shared a picture of Benedict Cumberbatch’s back in full Sherlock costume on his Twitter account and captioned it ‘Back #Sherlock’. Here it is:
Cumberbatch is seen looking out of a window, perhaps wondering why Anderson is so stupid or how to stop Watson from writing about him on his blog, or better yet, solving a very difficult case.
A fanpage also shared a picture of Martin Freeman from the sets but we cannot confirm its legitimacy, but here it is:
In a note released by Gatiss on Facebook, Cumberbatch said he is “genuinely thrilled to be back filming Sherlock with all the cast and crew. I can’t wait for everyone to see season four. But you will have to wait... though not for long... And it will be worth it.”
The actor is already shooting for his upcoming Marvel superhero movie Doctor Strange and now he will have to juggle between the two projects.
Sherlock season four is expected to return in January 2017.
