Highlight Story

Cricketer-commentator Navjot Singh Sidhu has walked out of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 4, leaving the producers, BBC Entertainment, and the channel, Sony Entertainment, without a 13th candidate for the show. Search is now on for the last celebrity for the dance reality show, which starts with a special inaugural episode on December 12. Reportedly, the channel has approached Irfan Pathan and Vijender Singh among others.

Meanwhile, it’s learnt from reliable sources that Sidhu, who was among the first celebrities to give a nod to the show, exited at the last minute because co-contestant actor-producer-comedy show judge Shekhar Suman, and he couldn’t see eye to eye. History has it that Sidhu couldn’t digest one of Suman’s jokes while they were co-judges on Laughter Challenge on Star One. The two haven’t been on talking terms ever since.

The channel refused to comment on the matter. When asked, Shekhar Suman says, “I don’t know who all are participating in Jhalak Dikkhla Jaa 4 because I’ve been so caught up with my own things. It’s best to ask Sidhu why he walked out.”

When brought up the history of their great-association-gone-sour, he says, “Sidhu and me were never so close as people to either get along well or not get along at all. So, it will never impact our decision to work together or not work together.”

He further added that the two haven’t met much since they started shooting for the show.

“In Jhalak, everyone is performing individually. There is no interaction, cohesion or unison among participants,” Suman says.

The show will be anchored by Sumeet Raghavan and Mona Singh and judged by Madhuri Dixit, Remo D’Souza and Malaika Arora Khan.
