Casting for Jaya Bachchan’s debut TV show is on in full swing and actor Sudeep Sahir is the latest to be signed for it.

Apparently, the show, which is based on the Gujarati novel Yog-Viyog, is being planned within a six-month time frame. “It will be shot from mid-March. The treatment will be like a feature film, much like Anil Kapoor’s 24 was,” says a source adding, “Unlike Amitabh Bachchan’s finite fictional show, this is a daily that is being planned for six months as of now. But if it does well, they may increase the duration.”

The show is said to be based in Mumbai, in a modern setting. “Varun Badola will play the eldest son, with Urvashi Dholakia as the vampish eldest bahu, Vishal Singh will play the middle son with Asiya Kazi as his wife, and Sudeep will be the third, unmarried son. A new actor will be cast opposite him. There are reports that Anupam Kher will play Jaya’s husband, but nothing has been finalised on that front,” says the source. Sudeep was last seen on Main Lakshmi Tere Aangan Ki and is currently doing a film with Saif Ali Khan’s production house.
