American actor Gabriel Macht, who plays the role of Harvey Spectre on the show, Suits, says that he would love to enter the realm of direction.
The 43-year-old, who has directed the mid-season premiere of the show, says that he finds this more fulfilling than acting. “I’d love to direct some more episodic TV to get my feet wet, but I’d also love to direct film. With that said, I’d love to direct theatre too. When I was directing, I found a nice repartee with the actors and every technician on set. It was great to be that creative…way more creative than just being an actor,” says Macht.
Talking about his character on the show, that airs on Comedy Central, he says that the audience will get to see his emotional side soon. “He can be vulnerable ... What really sets him apart from the other characters is apparent this season, as we get more of his back story and watch the anxiety he experiences as a result of abandonment issues,” he says.
Macht says that he is very different from his character. “I mean, I’m so different than this guy, that it’s a challenge to play. But it’s also, like, to be in that head space 12 to 14 hours a day, it’s a lot. It’s a draining thing.” And, he would love to visit India soon. “I’d love to come to India! One day, when my schedule permits, I can’t wait to explore your country,” he says.
