After ruling the small screen, a host of TV actors will be seen making their big screen debut. Here’s a lowdown



Avika Gor


Avika, who shot to fame as the child bride Anandi in Balika Vadhu and is currently seen playing Roli in Sasural Simar Ka, will be soon seeing making her transition to the Bollywood with a lead role in acclaimed filmmaker Kalpana Lajmi’s upcoming film Kaanch. Gor, who did a cameo in Priyadarshan’s Tezz recently, is quite excited and was quoted as saying, "I’m happy to have bagged this role and look forward to being a part of this female centric film.”



Sushant Singh

Sushant Singh Rajput, who rose to fame with his role of Manav Deshmukh in Pavitra Rishta, is all set for a Bollywood debut in Abhishek Kapoor’s film, Kai Po Che! The film is based on author Chetan Bhagat’s novel, The 3 Mistakes Of My Life. Talking about his debut, the 26-year-old, who was also part of reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 4 says, “After I left Pavitra Rishta, I said ‘no’ to many films. I am excited when I got to know that I got to work with Abhishek in my debut film.”



Sara Khan

She shot to fame as Sadhna of Bidaai and is currently seen as Mona in Ram Milaayi Jodi. Sara will be making her Bollywood debut with a yet to be titled film directed by film maker Vinod Chhabra.The film also stars Ashmit patel who was with Sara in reality show Bigg Boss season 4. Talking about her big screen debut, Sara says, “I am very excited about my new innings in Bollywood. I think it is a great phase of my career.”



Raj Singh Arora


The cool dude Yuvi of the show Remix will be seen in two upcoming Bollywood films - Kunal Kohli’s Teri Meri Kahaani and Kumar S Taurani’s Jayanta Bhai. “Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has been my inspiration behind coming in films. I am happy to be in Bollywood. Talking about Kunal’s film, I’m playing Shahid’s best friend. In Jayanta Bhai, I play the alter ego of a gangster,” says Arora.



Supriya Kumari


She has been part of shows such as Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo, Bairi Piya and Looteri Dulhan and now, Supriya is taking a leap to the silver screen with Rajiv R Ruia’s upcoming film, Zindagi 50/50. “I wanted a powerful film role. I play a straightforward housewife, who stays in a Mumbai chawl. She picks fights with her neighbours but is soft at heart.”



Barun Sobti


The current hearththrob of the small screen, Barun aka Arnav Singh Raizada in Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naaam Doon will be making his big screen debut with a film called Main Aur Mr Right. The 28-year-old, who will be starred opposite VJ turned actor Shenaz Treasury, has even taken a month break from his TV show this film. "I found it a very good project. My character is someone who will just do the most unexpected," he says.
