Television actor and host Hussain Kuwajerwala talks about bagging a new reality show, trying his hand at comedy, and more:
You’re only seen on reality shows now. Have you quit daily soaps?
Well, Kumkum was always there but it wrapped up six months ago. And reality shows are the need of the hour. I’m considering movies and am meeting up new directors. I’m also spending more time with my family.
What’s happening to your movie But Adi Loved Sanjana?
I am clueless. And I have no hopes for it either.
After trying your hand at acting, hosting and dancing, what’s next?
I’ll never try singing because I am horrible at it! But yes, I want to try my hand at comedy for sure.
How about taking up serials like Krishna Arjun again?
It is the best show I have done so far. So, even though I’d love to do a Krishna Arjun again, it’s too taxing as it requires a lot of action sequences. Jostling between the sets of Kumkum and Krishna Arjun would drain me out completely even back then.
Do you regret not taking up the lead role in Bhaskar Bharti?
I had no choice. I didn’t have the required dates.
Ekta Kapoor reportedly doe not want to repeat old faces in her shows. Where does this leave actors like you?
I don’t know. I’m happy for the new faces. It happens in every field. New faces means lower costs, so it’s good for the production companies.
