At the launch of Life Ok’s stand-up comedy show, Laugh India Laugh, singer Mika Singh was announced as one of the judges with actors Shekhar Suman and Chunky Pandey. But just a month after the show went on air, after appearing in only a few episodes, the singer has now completely vanished from the show.

An insider reveals, “From the beginning, it was decided that he would only be on for a few episodes. The show was launched with a seven-day telecast plan and was later shifted to weekends. Mika was part of the show for 12 episodes.” Ajit Thakur, general manager of Life Ok, says, “Mika had come on the show as a celebrity judge, but he loved it so much that he stayed on longer. He will return for the last four episodes leading up to the finale. He is a busy man and we knew he wouldn’t be available for the full season.”

This weekend, Mika’s brother Daler Mehndi will be seen on the show as a special guest. Having shot for the episode, he was apparently just as excited as his brother. “He kept asking a crew member about some of the Pakistani contestants on the show,” the source adds. “He not only had a hearty chat with the participants, but also did an energy-packed performance on the show. He didn’t mind the late hours as he sat enjoying and laughing through the non-stop eight-hour shoot.”
