Known for mixing daredevil stunts with great dance steps, the Suresh and Vernon group from Mumbai, consider their victory in Colors television’s talent show, India’s Got Talent 3, as a dream come true. One of the choreographers of the 30 member group, Suresh Mukund, 23, says, “I cannot believe that we actually won the show. Even when our name was announced, we kept thinking if it was true.”
The finale of the show, which was judged by actors Dharmendra, Kirron Kher and Sonali Bendre, saw this year old dance group shake a leg with actor Shah Rukh Khan who was the special guest at the finale. “Sharing the stage, and dancing with Shah Rukh Khan was one of the biggest moments of our lives,” says Mukund.
The dance show win also brings along a promise of a bright future for the group members who have been struggling financially so far. Talking about the group’s future plan, Mukund says, “We want to open our own dancing institute and want to represent India is the world hip hop scene.”
Ask if choreographing in Bollywood films is also an aim, and pat comes the reply. Mukund says, “This win has opened so many doors for us and we don't want to leave anything. Our struggle has finally paid off.”
