Jude Law and Matt Damon-starrer film The Talented Mr Ripley is being turned into a television series.

Endemol Shine is partnering production company television 360 and publisher Diogenes to turn Patricia Highsmith's book series into a TV project.

Game of Thrones producer Guymon Casady and Benjamin Forkner of The Gallows are executive producing the show, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

They are currently looking to attach a major writer and star before presenting it to production companies.

Highsmith's series of novels told the story of the charming psychopath Tom Ripley pulling off schemes around the globe.

A 1999 Anthony Minghella-directed version of The Talented Mr Ripley starred Damon as the conman and Gwyneth Paltrow as his victim.

A French version of the novel titled Purple Noon was released in 1960, with legendary leading man Alain Delon playing Ripley.
