The 9:30 p m show on Colors, Mohe Rang De, is on it’s way out. The negative lead of the daily, Rinku Ghosh, confirmed the news that it will be pulled off air in a month or maybe less.

According to a source, the reason cited for the show’s exit is that it has lost its track which began with the freedom struggle movement and ended in a family drama.

Another actor from the show, on the condition of anonymity, expressed that it was demoralising that the channel had not promoted Mohe.. as much as their other shows like Jeevan Sathi.

Creative director, Nimisha Pandey, from Sphere Origin, couldn’t digest the channel’s decision to pull the plug off. “Our ratings were rising steadily every week,” she sighs.

No plans
The source added that a conclusion is being written in. The soap may end with Kranti and Rajveer reuniting and the country getting its independence.

Originally, the script was designed to move beyond the Partition period, a la Buniyaad. Soniya Huria, spokesperson for Colors, said, “Since we didn’t have long-term plans for Mohe Rang De, the channel thinks that it’s time to take the story to its logical end. The slot will soon be occupied by a new show which will be equally good if not better.”
