Actor Tisca Chopra, who will be seen in the Indian adaptation of popular American espionage drama 24, is confident that the show would create a new set of audience for television.
The Hindi version, which has borrowed the same name from the original one, is written by Rensil D’Silva. The show is being directed by Abhinay Deo and produced by Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor. It will premiere in August on Colors channel.
“The show is not a risk for me... It is a huge franchise. I am quite happy to be part of such a show which offers good content. With the format of this show I am sure it will develop a new set of audience,” Tisca said.
The series will see Anil play Jack Bauer, an anti-terror squad leader, while Tisca will essay the role of Anil Kapoor’s wife. “I have an exciting role to play in the show. It’s a challenging role and I’ll get to do things I have never done before. The role is different from what it is there in the original show. It is a huge opportunity to get to do a show like this,” she added.
Tisca’s last role as a mom the film Taare Zameen Par was much appreciated.
