Christmas has come a little late for British television fans as two very talented English actors, Hugh Laurie of House M.D. and Tom Hiddleston of Avengers, will be coming together for BBC's The Night Manager.
Based on John le Carre's thriller novel of the same name, the series will be broadcast by BBC One in UK and by AMC in the US.
The mini-series, which is set to begin filming in spring 2015, will be directed by Academy Award winner Susanne Bier.
This will be the first television adaptation of a le Carré novel in more than 20 years. "The eagerly anticipated series follows former British soldier Jonathan Pine (Hiddleston) as he navigates the shadowy recesses of Whitehall and Washington where an unholy alliance operates between the intelligence community and the secret arms trade. To infiltrate the inner circle of lethal arms dealer Richard Onslow Roper (Laurie), Pine must himself become a criminal," reports comingsoon.net.
The release date for the series has not been announced but the Facebook page for BBC One has promised to keep their fans posted on the production details.
