Reality TV star Laverne Cox, who will become the first transgender to have a wax figure at Madame Tussauds, has shared words of wisdom with a seven-year-old transgender girl.
The 31-year-old Orange is the New Black star told the girl, M, "Transgender is beautiful." The girl's mother, Mack, wrote in a blog post that when M told Cox that she was a transgender, the 31-year-old actor "seemed at a bit of a loss," reported People magazine.
"Remember, honey, transgender is beautiful," Cox told her.
The actor's words were echoed by another member of the transgender community, Caitlyn Jenner, who shared her first candid photo on Twitter with the hashtag #TransIsBeautiful.
Laverne Cox was also the first openly transgender person to cover TIME Magazine and to be nominated for a Prime-time Emmy Award.
