He confesses that his initial struggle was like that of any other small town aspiring actor but he never gave up or considered a change of career. “The only drawback of coming from a small town is that you take some time to understand city life and how things function. At no point did I think of going back. This is what I wanted to do and this is where my heart was,” he says emphasising on the fact that, “Our television industry is organised in a very disorganised way and the competition was tough.”

Having played Lord Shiva on the screen for four years, Raina has found his feet in the glamour world. But does working in a television show ever get monotonous?

“Yes. After a point it does but you can’t have everything your way. You have to follow monotony. It is not just in our television industry, it happens in a lot of professions. One has to deal with it,” says Raina, who tells us that had he not been an actor, he would have been a pilot or a successful businessman.

The actor, who is currently seen playing the role of ruler Ashoka, is known for his fitness quotient as well.

When asked, if he wanted to give any health tips to his fans, Raina says, “It works differently for everyone. One should consult a fitness expert to understand their body and routine. It’s about the kind of lifestyle that they have and what their body is capable of doing. The bad part about being in a metropolitan city is that you stop walking. So one should start walking or jogging regularly.”

Is Bollywood calling? “There is something happening but I am taking my own sweet time in understanding things. May be by the end of the year I will be able to tell you about it in a concrete manner,” says Raina.
