When he signed up for the supernatural show, Ringa Ringa Roses, little did Samir Soni know that it would go off air two months within.
Ask the actor about this and he says, "I don’t know what’s happening. Looks like it’s off the air for good. For the past month, they (the makers) have been saying that they are re-working the script but I haven’t heard from them."
Apparently, the makers have asked Samir to keep his options open. "Unofficially, I’ve been told if I get something better, I should take it up. The official version is that they are working on new stories to take the show forward," he says.
When the actor was signed on, he wasn’t told of a seasonal break, or that it would go off air within a few months of debuting. "Surprisingly, low ratings were blamed, but there are other shows on the channel that have similar ratings," he says.
Post the show’s run, Samir has been attending to his unwell father and choosing to look at the bright side. "Things happen for a reason," says Samir, who now isn’t really disillusioned about this abrupt end.
"I have accepted it as I don’t have a choice. It could have been a trendsetter if it was given a good run. But I was needed by my father’s side and have to take care of him now," he says.
