UTV Action is going all the way in trying to establish its status as an exclusive channel for all things action in India.
In its effort to bring the best of the West to its audiences, the channel is collaborating with major Hollywood studios to promote and release their movies. Some of the tie-ups include blockbusters like The Karate Kid, A-Team and upcoming Knight & Day.
This collaboration aims to effectively increase awareness levels of the movie in India prior to its theatrical release. In the offing is exclusive content such as interviews, making of the movie, as well as unseen footage.
The channel plans to associate with almost all Hollywood action titles releasing in India in the coming months. Channel Head, Sameer Ganpathy confirms tie-ups with big studios like Sony and Fox.
“Given the fact that we’re creating a viable proposition for movies in that space, we are formulating plans to work with several other studios as well,” he says.
Will this mean that more action stars will land on Indian shores to promote their movies? “There are no immediate plans but depending on the scale and size of the release, there are certain possibilities that we will explore,” says Ganpathy.
