Producer-director Vipul Amrutlal Shah is now returning to the small screen with a brand new show titled Bhai, Bhaiya Aur Brother on SAB TV. The filmmaker has teamed up with actor Deven Bhojani as a co-producer for the serial, as both of them are known for their light-hearted stories.
Says Vipul, “When I started doing films, it was tough for me to handle both mediums as I didn’t have a background in films. So, I decided to take a break from TV and focus entirely on films. Television is challenging and needs commitment, time and passion. Now with this show, I can be part of TV and still focus on films. Deven will be a hands-on producer.”
Interestingly, the duo has been friends for over three decades. Deven even made his debut as a TV director with Vipul’s show, Ek Mahal Ho Sapno Ka, years ago, and later, even directed Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai.
It was Deven, who mentioned to Vipul that he wanted to turn producer. Although Vipul denies that he agreed to do Bhai, Bhaiya Aur Brother to re-launch his friend, he says, “He (Deven) doesn’t need my help. I wanted to return to TV for a long time. This show seemed like a perfect opportunity for both of us to so something interesting.”
Revealing the plot, Vipul adds, “These days, an increasing number of people are opting to live as nuclear families. What if three brothers, after staying separately for 15 years, decide to move under the same room with their families, it could lead to a clash of mindsets amongst the brothers, their wives and kids. But it ends with them becoming one unit.”
