Nothing lies like true love,” laughs John Abraham, who will be making a special appearance in the upcoming season of MTV Roadies. The actor, who plays the ‘liar’ Sid in Abbas Tyrewala’s Jhutha Hi Sahi (earlier titled 1-800 Love), will be a guardian angel to the Roadies’ contestants and teach them him to lie convincingly over the phone. He will also select the winner of Season Eight.

“Raghu (host Raghu Ram) and I bonded on the sets of Abbas’s film and when he was called back to Roadies on public demand, he requested me to help out on the show too. My personality is a match for Roadies since you can’t take my bike away from me,” the actor grins, informing that the online registration for audition opens today at www.mtvindia.com/rbg

White lies
While Abraham admits to having told his share of white lies, he quickly adds that he’s never dared to lie to his dad. “I’m still terrified of him. My lies have always been harmless ones. For instance, hundreds of times, I’ve lied to terminally ill kids to give them hope. And usually, two days after the deed, I’ve made an honest confession,” says Abraham, admitting that the Jhutha Hi Sahi experience has helped him lie better. “I’m a more confident liar now. I just hope Bipasha (girlfriend Bipasha Basu) doesn’t read this, though I have never lied to her either.”

He says that he’s been caught out by his mother thousands of times but was never yelled at for his fibs. “She always knew I didn’t mean to hurt anyone. And today, at 39, my conscience stops me from lying to my only angel,” he says. Can he catch out a liar too? “Easily,” retorts Abraham. “I just need look into the person’s eyes and I know that he’s lying. I don’t have to say a word, my knowing smile is a killer.”
