Much awaited sci-fi movie Star Wars: The Force Awakens is doing everything to register itself on the minds of the viewers. The upcoming season nine of the hit sitcom The Big Bang Theory will have a Star Wars plotline.

While the writers are still working on how to feature the storyline on the show, executive producer Steve Molaro has given his nod to the idea: "We're talking about how that will be weaved into (the guys') lives. And we have some really cool ideas." Considering Sheldon, Leonard and their friends' obsession with the franchise, "It would be weird for us not to mention (The Force Awakens)," Aceshowbiz quoted Molaro.

"Obviously, we're all excited about it, just as human beings - and the characters are as well. I don't know exactly how it's going to play in, but it won't be ignored," the exec-producer said.

season nine will premiere on September 21.
