A month before it goes on air, Bigg Boss season five is already grabbing headlines for the contestants it may have on board. The latest entry on the list is UK-based singer Jay Sean, who was recently in news for his supposed “friendship” with actor Priyanka Chopra.
“He is likely to accept the offer. Apart from him, retired sprinter PT Usha has also been offered a considerable amount of money to participate in the game show,” says a source from the host channel, Colors. The channel refused to give out any official statement about the participants.
True to form, this year too the show seems to be approa-ching headline makers of the past year. As per sources, one big contender is model-actor Poonam Pandey, who became an overnight sensation during the World Cup in March-April, when she declared that she would strip for the Indian cricket team if they won. Usha sparked a debate when she spoke out on the doping controversy around Olympic sprinters and said, “doping is rampant in India.”
“The big international name this year is boxer Mike Tyson — he has a big fan following here. Actor-item girl Mink Brar, comedian Jaspal Bhatti and commentator-cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu are other contestants who have been approached,” says the source, adding that the channel and production house Endemol have been in talks with Pakistani actor Humaima Malik to participate. “Last year they had Veena Malik from Pakistan and she was a big hit, they are hoping to recreate the magic with Humaima,” the source adds.
TV actors Vishal Karwal, Kratika Sengar, Parul Chauhan and Karan Singh Grover have also been asked to be a part of the 13-member contingent that will spend more than three months under house arrest.
