India’s Glam Diva, an extension of the TV show India’s Sexiest Bachelor, won by John Abraham this year, has finally found its 14 pretty faces to compete for the coveted title. The newest mum in showbiz, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan tops the list, followed by actor Kareena Kapoor, Siddhartha Mallya’s ‘close friend’ Deepika Padukone and ‘silky’ hot, Vidya Balan.

Also in the running on the fairer sex’s contender list are actors Priyanka Chopra, Bipasha Basu, Sonam Kapoor, Freida Pinto and Sonakshi Sinha, singers Sunidhi Chauhan and Shruti Haasan, soap queen Ekta Kapoor and tennis player Sania Mirza. The show has been divided into three segments — one highlights every contestant’s IQ quotient, the second emphasises their sex appeal and the third reveals their personalities.

The ladies will be judged on the basis of their style of clothing, public appearances, brands they endorse, business sense as well as physical appearance to name a few.

According to Nikhil Mirchandani from the BIG CBS group, the show, that will run into approximately 13-15 episodes, featuring one or two episodes a week, was planned before India’s Sexiest Bachelor ended. “The audience response to every episode was encouraging. Lakhs of viewers voted in and chose a man who they thought was the sexiest bachelor in the country. So, this time too, we will open avenues for the audience to vote and choose India’s first glam diva,” he says.

Apparently the show has pushed the network’s plans of bringing in the Next Top Model format to India. Mirchandani confirms, “That show is on. We will come up with India’s Next Top Model because there are few shows on television that actually help the modelling and fashion industry. But there are other shows that need immediate attention too. So, sometime next year, we should be ready with that one too.”
