How do you feel about getting into
Nach Baliye 4as the wild card entry?
I’m excited but I’d have been happier if Lavinia and I had entered in the first round along with the other 12
Isn’t it unfair that the others have had to go through more rounds than you?
(Laughs) No. They will earn more money as they have been featured in more episodes.
How have the last three rounds been?
The first round was perfect. There were problems in the second.. and Lavinia was a little nervous because it got very competitive. Still, we evened it out with good scores.
Are you a natural dancer?
No, I’ve only just picked it up. In fact, I was ousted from
Mr and Ms TV
, my first reality show, because I was an average dancer.
Who’s your stiffest competitor among the current jodis?
Daljeet Kaur and Shaleen Bhanot.
Mr and Ms TV, Kaun Jeetega Bollywood ka Ticketand
Nach Baliye 4.. you’re totally into reality shows huh?
(Smiles) It’s the logical thing to do.. dance reality shows have arrived big time. Indians are crazy about Bollywood and cricket. And dance is an intrinsic part of the film industry.
But hasn’t the format been done to death?
The problem is that everyone follows the herd. All we can do is select the best from the lot and currently
is right up there.
Aren’t the judges too severe?
Come on, if you are good they will praise you.. but if you are bad they will be mean. It’s nothing personal. They judge our performances. It’s quite sad when people who are evicted go out and say they don’t like to be judged. If so, why get into such a show in the first place?
What about the slapping incident in
Kaun Jeetega Bollywood ka Ticket?
It was blown out of proportion. But I had a good time on the show.. it helped me bag a role in Mahesh Manjrekar’s next directorial venture.
Which has been your favourite character till date?
Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki.
I miss playing him.. the role made me who I am.
You have worked in films but not had any major roles..
Not true. I was there from start to finish in
. Sadly, the film didn’t do well. Having said that, I never judge a role by its length. I had about 10 scenes in
Anthony Kaun Hai
but they were important to the plot.
If your next film clicks, will you quit TV?
Why should I want to quit TV? I would never trade one medium for the other.
Any makeover on the cards?
Let’s see.. I’ll chop my hair short when
Kahani Hamarey Mahabharat Ki
