Highlight Story

It’s a comic caper.. that’s not news. Nor is the fact that NDTV Imagine’s next comes from Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Productions. What’s news is that Juhi Babbar, Sumeet Raghavan, Ali Asgar and Swapnil Joshi will be part of the weekend soap Ghar ki Baat Hai.

Anant Mahadevan will helm the TV series modelled on Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi. Aziz Mirza will provide creative inputs.

Different roles
Asgar who played Kamal in Kahani Ghar Ghar ki, will be seen in different avatars in every episode. Swapnil Joshi doesn’t think it’s fair to compare Ghar ki Baat Hai with the 1980s slice-of-life show.

The actor says he is happy that simple stories are returning on the tube. “Not that saas bahu soaps were bad.. they did rule for over a decade,” he adds. <b1>

Sumeet Raghavan feels Ghar ki Baat Hai will break the myth that sitcoms don’t work. The show may take off in the last week of this month.
