Ashes 2017-18: James Anderson, England’s trump card
James Anderson is the leading wicket-taker for England in Tests. He is the first England bowler to go past 500 wickets and he will be determined to provide England glory. The 35-year-old, who was part of the victorious England team in the 2010/11 Ashes but was also part of the side that was whitewashed 5-0 in 2006/07 and 2013/14, has said that he just wants to take wickets. Anderson's record has received plenty of tributes from the England players. Stuart Broad, his opening bowling partner has said, “I've been lucky to bowl at the other end to him, and I know if I hadn't, I wouldn't have as many wickets as I've got.” Anderson will be determined to overcome his poor record in Australia, where he has taken 43 wickets in 13 Tests at an average of over 38 with no five-wicket hauls.
