Navjot Sidhu asked to stay away from Punjab, hence quit Rajya Sabha seat
Former Bharatiya Janata Party leader Navjot Singh Sidhu addressed the media at his CWG residence in New Delhi on Monday. He said that he quit his Rajya Sabha seat because his party had told him to stay away from Punjab. He went on to say that when Modi wave came, it drowned everyone, including him. He had resigned from Rajya Sabha on 18th July. Sidhu was a BJP Lok Sabha MP from Amritsar from 2004 till 2014. Making way for party leader Arun Jaitley, Sidhu had to give up his seat during the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
