BJP asks govt to utilize its 'Italian link' for chopper scam probe
The BJP today mocked the Congress led UPA government, advising it to use its 'Italian connection' in the dollar750 million Italian Finmeccanica helicopter deal after an Italian court probing the deal refused to share crucial documents that might reveal valuable information, ahead of dispatch of a team of investigation officials. Meanwhile spokesperson of India's ruling Congress party, Rashid Alvi defended the federal government saying that it was taking up the matter with utmost seriousness. In the meantime, the BJP also assailed the government over the reports of a Delhi Police constable arrested for reportedly trying to access senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley's call details, and demanded an answer from the Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde as to who ordered this unauthorised surveillance.
