Watch | AAP’s Kejriwal fires his minister over corruption charge
Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday sacked his food and civil supplies minister Asim Ahmed Khan for alleged corruption. Kejriwal, flanked by his deputy Manish Sisodia and surrounded by scores of journalists at a press conference, played out a sting operation tape in which Khan's purported voice was heard discussing a deal. “It doesn't matter if it's an officer or a minister…you bring me evidence and I'll work on its basis,” Kejriwal said, cracking the whip against Khan at a time at least five of his 67 MLAs -- in the 70-member assembly -- are mired in controversies. The chief minister, whose Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) stormed to power in Delhi early this year on promises of a corruption-free government and welfare of the common man, said the complaint will be referred to the CBI. Ballimaran MLA Imran Hussain will replace Khan in the Delhi cabinet, ANI reported.
