Tori Bowie ot the US upset Jamaican Elaine Thompson to win the women’s 100m on Sunday, as New Zealander Tomas Walsh dominated the shot put on Day 3 of the IAAF World Championships of Athletics.Greek pole vaulter Ekaterina Stefanidi and heptathlete Nafi Thiam also added world titles to the Olympic golds they won in Rio last year. Earlier in the day, Kenya’s Geoffrey Kipkorir Kirui won the men’s marathon, while Kenyan-born Bahraini Rose Chelimo edged veteran Edna Kiplagat to win the women’s race. The podium ceremony for the 100m medal winners -- Justin Gatlin, Christian Coleman and Usain Bolt -- was another highlight of the day. (Hindustan Times)
