Breaking her silence for the first time after the feud in Yadav family, wife of SP patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav, Sadhana Yadav, said she wanted to enter politics but was stopped by her husband.

“I have talked a lot of time about coming in the forefront. But he (Mulayam) said he is there to do it. But now I think it is required. I do not want to join politics but want to do social work. I want my son Prateek to enter politics. I want to him help the ill, kids who cannot afford to go to school, differently-abled kids and cancer patients,” Sadhna said.

Talking to news agency ANI, Sadhana said: “I do not know who misled Akhilesh but he respects me and ‘netaji’ a lot. I want our party to win again and Akhilesh to become the chief minister again,” she said adding whatever happened in the family was bad.

“I do not blame anyone (for allegations on her). I have been more in conversation with Akhilesh since January 1 than I did in the last five years,” she said.

Sadhna said she had been insulted a lot and accused of creating feud within the party but now she won’t step back.

“A chief secretary was transferred. People said I was behind it. It’s false, though I wish I was so powerful. People should not have got the courage to say so many things about me,” she said.

“I was brought up in a family where my father used to say one should not publicise the good work but time is different now. No matter what, nobody should have disrespected ‘netaji’. He is the one who founded and nurtured the party, she added.

Refuting allegations that she was behind the Samajwadi Party feud, Sadhna said time has done everything and no one is to be blamed for it. “I have given time to everyone be it professor (Ram Gopal Yadav) or his children, Dharmendra, Tipu or the daughter-in-laws. I have considered all as a family. I always wanted to give credit to ‘Netaji.’ I always thought I am able to do things because of him,” she said.

“I have given him advice on political and social front. I have given him advice on family as well. I have kept the family united. Dharmendra and Akhilesh have been made MPs...I have done all these but in a hidden manner,” she added.

On Shivpal Singh Yadav, she said, he had done a lot for Mulayam and the party and should not have been insulted.
