Putting on weight?

For parents hoping to improve not only their own fitness regime, but that of their children, GeoPalz has debuted two new products that reward kids for physical activity while letting parents track their family’s health.

The ibitz PowerKey, which debuted at last week's Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, is geared for kids and connects to any Bluetooth-ready smartphone. The clip-on dongle works as a pedometer to track activity, which is converted into keys to unlock rewards like games, apps, and prizes on Amazon.

The adult version is called Unity and comes with a separate app to track how many steps you take throughout the day, or to connect to smart scales and heart rate monitors for more detailed health data.

The app displays activity from both the Unity and the PowerKey, so parents can stay on top of their children's programme.  The PowerKey and Unity will be available internationally in April for $49.99 and $34.99 respectively.
