The 20th Busan International Film Festival will have Zubaan, a musical drama directed by Mozez Singh, as its inaugural film. The festival will be held in South Korea between October 1 and 10. Amongst the biggest film festivals of Asia, Busan film fest will, for the first time, have a Bollywood musical opening the festival.
The screening will also be the world premiere of the drama which also features the Masaan actor Vicky Kaushal and actor-singer Sarah Jane Dias.
"It is the ultimate honour for Zubaan to have its world premiere as the opening film for the Busan International Film Festival. For me this film is a passion project and the fact that it has been selected for this momentous occasion makes me believe that we did something right, and I am eagerly looking forward to sharing what promises to be a terrific experience with my cast and my producers," Singh said in a statement.

Singh is also thrilled over the fact that his debut venture will open up opportunities for Bollywood in eastern markets and he along with the lead cast and the film's producers will be attending the world premiere.
Produced by Guneet Monga and Shaan Vyas of Sikhya Entertainment and Metamozez Entertainment, Zubaan is a story of a young man who has a fear of music and is set in Punjab and Delhi.
