7-year-old Chinese boy’s 8-pack abs captivates the internet

A seven-year-old Chinese boy has become a sensation on the internet after his pictures showing off his perfect muscular body and eight-pack abs became viral on social media.

Chen Yi, a resident of Hangzhou in Zhejiang province in east China, was photographed during a gymnastic game on July 2 as he was changing after the competition, the Daily Mail reported.

The Mail added that he won seven medals, including six golds and one silver, in all of the events at the 19th Hangzhou City Sports Games. And it was his first ever participation in a formal competition.

According to reports, Chen has been performing gymnastics ever since he was a five-year-old kindergartener and spends his time in training. It has helped him built strong abdominal muscles, a good figure, flexibility, and good motor coordination, Chen’s coach told the People’s Daily.

Chen’s mother, Zhang Hongyu, said her son was born weighing a little over four kilogrammes and started walking when he was just 11 months old, the Mail said. She added Chen could hold his milk bottle with one hand and pull his own body up on a horizontal bar with the other hand when he was two years old.

She also said Chen likes dumplings and can eat more than a dozen of them in one go.

His account was shared by the People’s Daily on its Facebook page and ‘liked’ by over 27,000 people.
