Thirteen bodies have been recovered from a Peruvian ship that sank in the Amazon river near the border with Colombia, officials said. A total of 220 passengers survived, including two Germans and an Italian, Iquitos harbormaster Gonzalo Meza told EFE Thursday. At least 18 people are still
missing.

The Camila vessel sank around 2.40 am on Wednesday near the Santa Rosa village, some 50 km from the Iquitos city, capital of Loreto province. The ship was carrying over 300 people.

The bodies of the 18 missing people are believed to be trapped inside the sunken vessel. Officials said 60 more people might have died in the accident.

Search for the missing people is continuing.
