Indian investigators looking into the 26/11 terrorist attacks in Mumbai may get an early opportunity to question David Coleman Headley, the Pakistani-American currently being held in Chicago, considered to be one of the key planners behind those attacks. After a meeting between
Solicitor-General Gopal Subramaniam and US Attorney General Eric Holder, the Indian embassy in Washington issued a statement, "The two partners agreed to take suitable steps to bring about direct access by Indian authorities to David Headley as soon as possible."

Dean Boyd, a spokesman for the Department of Justice, said, "We agree with the Indian Embassy's statement."
