On the eve of his crucial confirmation hearing, Indian-American Srikanth Srinivasan received a shot in his arm as the only Indian-origin Congressman Ami Bera came out in his support along with other lawmakers and multiple quarters from the country’s judiciary sector.

If confirmed by the Senate for the post of US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, the 46-year-old Srinivasan would be the first South Asian circuit court judge in the history of the country.

“Srinivasan would be an outstanding court of appeals judge,” Bera said in a statement after his meeting with him along with other members.
