Nepal's 'Buddha Boy', hailed as a reincarnation of Lord Buddha by devotees in the country, may be dragged to a court following his scuffle with locals in a forest in Bara district, a news report said on Monday. 18-year-old Ram Bahadur Bamjan admitted that he beat up locals in the jungles
of Manaharwa where he is meditating.

Even as the Buddha Boy admitted his crime on Sunday, he made it clear that he would not attend any court hearing, myrepublica, the news site of Republica daily reported.

The injured people of the area have filed a complaint against the Buddha Boy with the police, the report in the Nepalese daily said.

The story of Bamjan, who is meditating in the forest, has been splashed in the Nepalese media and abroad as he has often vanished from his meditation site in southern Nepal.

He became an international celebrity and part of a myth after the local media reported the boy wonder to be praying for enlightenment like Lord Buddha under a tree without taking any food or water for nearly 10 months.

Large number of devotees have gathered at the forest site to have a look at the skeletal boy sitting cross-legged under a peepul tree with his eyes tightly shut.

Earlier, efforts by scientists to subject him to tests to see whether he took regular food or water were blocked by an organised group of disciples.
