Nepal's Maoists on Tuesday put up posters showing its leaders wearing shoes with Indian national flags, as they continued with their anti-India campaign for preserving "national independence", media reports said. The Indian national flags were insulted at a time when India was celebrating
its 60th Republic Day.

Maoists put up posters in Nepal showing its leaders wearing shoes with Indian national flags in Morang district bordering India, according to local media reports.

"We have reports that our party president Prachanda's effigy has been burnt in Bihar, India with the involvement of local political activists and the SSB personnel," said Dinanath Sharma, Maoists' spokesperson.

There is strong resentment against the Nepalese Maoist in India in the wake of their continued anti-India campaign in the name of preserving "national independence".

Following the incident, the effigy of Maoist supremo was burnt in Araria district of Bihar.
