Nepalese police disclosed on Monday that there could an international link to the murder of Jamim Shah, owner of Nepal’s first cable television network. Shah (47), who owned Channel Nepal, a television channel and Space Time Network, a cable television company, was shot dead by two
motorcycle borne assailants in the busy Lazimpat area of Kathmandu.

“We are looking at all angles to the murder. Efforts are underway to establish the national and international links behind the crime,” Nepal Police spokesperson Bigyan Raj Sharma told Hindustan Times.

A Nepali citizen with Kashmiri origin, Shah had been accused of having links to India’s most sought after criminal Dawood Ibrahim — a charge he had denied.

Several people have been arrested in connection with the murder and all exit points from Kathmandu kept under surveillance.

The assailants had allegedly followed Shah’s car from a prominent hotel and shot him from point blank range near the French embassy.
