A US Army private accused of sending hundreds of thousands of classified documents to the anti-secrecy website WikiLeaks is back in court for a four-day hearing that may address his attorney's motion to dismiss the charges against him.
Pfc. Bradley Manning is expected to be in a
military court at Fort Meade, Maryland, when the hearing begins on Tuesday.

The hearing is expected to focus on two main issues. First, Manning's attorney has asked a judge to dismiss all charges because his client has not received a speedy trial. A military prosecutor says the delays have been reasonable given the complexity of the case.

Second, the hearing may address Manning's offer to plead guilty to reduced charges for 10 of the 22 counts against him.
