Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has praised his Indian counterpart, Manmohan Singh, for inviting him to watch a cricket World Cup match between their countries. Singh has shown a positive attitude and he has show that he wants to bring peace and prosperity to the region, said
Gilani in Islamabad before he leaves for his meeting with the Indian premier.

Gilani was aked by reporters whether Singh's invite was a "googly". "Dr Singh is a good humored and seasoned politician. Both the sides want to improve the bilateral relationship. By inviting Pakistan leadership to watch the match he has send positive signals that will help bringing the two nations closer,"  he replied.

"The idea behind my visit to Mohali is to promote cricket and friendship with India," he said.

The prime ministers of the countries will meet on Wednesday at Mohali, hoping to use one the world's biggest sporting contests to rebuild relations shattered by the Mumbai attacks.

Singh has invited Gilani to watch the game and discuss reviving a peace process, although "cricket diplomacy" will offer more symbolic gestures than any breakthroughs in a conflict that has lasted for more than sixty years.
