Vice President Hamid Ansari left for home on Saturday after concluding his six-day visit to Turkey during which he met top leaders of this country and discussed with them the issue of terrorism besides ways to enhance bilateral trade and commerce.
Ansari had a series of meetings with
Turkish President Abdullah Gul, Prime Minister Racep Tayyip Erdogan and Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Cemil Cicek and the issue of terrorism was a focal point in all these deliberations.

During his interaction with top Turkish leadership, the two countries also discussed measures to enhance mutual cooperation and participation in bilateral trade and commerce as well as key international issues affecting India and Turkey such as the situation in Afganistan.

Terrorism dominated the high level discussions with both sides expressing their concern on recent terror attacks in each other's territory.

The two sides also discussed in detail the Afghanistan imbroglio and India found Turkey's response on the issue "quite forthcoming".

During the visit, Ansari also visited the historical Eyup Sultan Mosque and shrine of Abu Ayub Ali Ansari, his ancestor who lived at the time of Prophet Mohammad.
