Narendra Modi to visit China next week

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi will pay a five-day visit to China from November 8 at the invitation of the ruling Communist Party, during which he will explore investment opportunities. Modi would visit Beijing, Shanghai and Chengdu and address some business events to highlight
investment prospects in Gujarat.

Besides interacting with senior Chinese leaders in Beijing, Modi would address a seminar being organised in Beijing by the Indian embassy along with the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products (CCCM).

Modi will later visit Shanghai and from there go to Chengdu, where another similar business event is being arranged.

Modi is the third BJP Chief Minister to visit China in recent months.

Former Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa visited China earlier to scout investments followed recently by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivaraj Singh Chouhan.

BJP President Nitin Gadkari too visited China this year at the invitation of the international department of the ruling Communist Party of China (CPC).

Bihar Chief Minster Nitish Kumar also visited China recently to study various development projects.
