WhatsApp went down briefly on Friday and the world stopped in its tracks to tweet about it.

The messaging app was down worldwide, as people were unable to send or receive messages. WhatsApp Web, the app’s web interface, was also down since it uses the phone connection.

As a testament to how ubiquitous WhatsApp has become in our lives, there was an immediately flurry of tweets from around the world, wondering what had happened.
