Was it the disgruntled employee who shut down Trump’s Twitter account?world Updated: Nov 03, 2017 15:37 IST
“Is it the end of the world?” “What will we all do?” “Will I have to *gasp* actually talk to people?”
WhatsApp went down briefly on Friday and the world stopped in its tracks to tweet about it.
The messaging app was down worldwide, as people were unable to send or receive messages. WhatsApp Web, the app’s web interface, was also down since it uses the phone connection.
As a testament to how ubiquitous WhatsApp has become in our lives, there was an immediately flurry of tweets from around the world, wondering what had happened.
Not only did #WhatsAppDown start trending worldwide, it was the breaking news for media outlets.
Many social media users connected the WhatsApp outage to the other app-related news of the day: US President Donald Trump’s account being deactivated by a disgruntled Twitter employee. Has the Twitter employee found a job at WhatsApp, was a common joke.
Here are the funniest tweets that the WhatsApp outage inspired:
