Gunmen fired four rockets at Israel from the southern Lebanese port of Tyre on Thursday, a Lebanese security source said, as witnesses reported explosions near Israel's northern border.
"Unknown gunmen fired four rockets from two positions, south and east of Tyre, at Israel," the source said as residents in the area said they heard four blasts.
Witnesses reported hearing several blasts near the northern Israeli town of Nahariya.
The Israeli army said that the country's Iron Dome defence system had intercepted a Lebanese rocket.
Israeli police urged residents of the region to remain close to bomb shelters.
