Various protests were witnessed in Sialkot, the hometown of Sanauallah Haq, the Pakistani prisoner who died in Chandigarh.
His sons, Khurram and Salman, said that they were devastated by the news of their father’s death.
The family, which lived near the border in a village called Assu Batta, moved to Sialkot soon after their father crossed the border.
“We moved to Sialkot because we almost starved at our village after our father disappeared,” one of the sons told the media on Thursday. Sanaullah crossed the border in 1990 while herding goats, his family said.
