Hundreds of Muslims took to Twitter on Monday after the second United States presidential debate to rebuff Republican party hopeful Donald Trump’s suggestion that Muslims in America should report when they see “something going on”.
The brazen real estate mogul turned Republican party leader has been repeatedly accused of peddling Islamophobia and his response – to a question of bias against Arabs and Muslims – seemed to confirm the community’s fears.
Twitter reacted with hilarity, though, after author Moustafa Bayoumi responded with a tweet that went viral and the hashtag #MuslimsReportStuff was trending in a matter of hours. Here are some choicest barbs by Muslims back at Trump:
