US President Barack Obama starts Wednesday a visit to West Asia that will make headlines but is not expected to achieve much. In short: Don’t expect an end to Israel-Palestine dispute.

Obama stops first in Israel, then in Palestinian areas, before heading out west to Jordan.

India should be watching closely because India is invested in the region with millions of Indians working in the region and Israel being a major defence supplier for India.

Palestine has New Delhi’s support for nationhood. India was the first non-Arab nation to support to Palestine’s statehood demand.
