Pakistan started their World T20 campaign on a high by defeating Bangladesh by 55 runs in Kolkata on Wednesday.
Over 19: 12 runs off the over. Ban 135/6
Over 18: 12 runs and a wicket off the over. Ban 123/6
17.4 Mohammad Irfan to Mohammad Mithun
Mithun looks to glide it away to third man. Perhaps he was only wanting to chip it, but it carries all the way to the fielder there. Amir takes a fine catch
Over 17: 6 runs off the over. Ban 111/5
Over 16: 7 runs off the over. Ban 105/4
Over 15: 5 run off the over. Ban 98/4
Over 14: 6 run off the over. Ban 93/4
Over 13: 8 runs off the over. Ban 87/4
Over 12: 5 runs off the over. Ban 79/4
Over 11: 5 runs and a big wicket in the over. Ban 74/4
10.2 Imad Wasim to Mahmudullah
He was running in, realised he had to move quickly to his left and dive forward too. Does all of it in perfect, fluid motions and comes up with a good catch. This is what happens with the required rate hits double figures. Good batsmen play poor shots and Mahmudullah’s slog sweep - with two men on the boundary led to his downfall.
Over 10: 8 runs off the over. Ban 69/3
Over 9: 3 runs off the over. Ban 61/3
Over 8: 1 run and a wicket off the over. Ban 58/3
7.6 Shahid Afridi to Tamim Iqbal
Afridi seems to have that seam-up one again, across the left-hander, Tamim goes for the slog sweep and gets a lot more height than distance. Sails down in to the hands of deep square leg
Over 7: 12 runs off the over. Ban 57/2
Over 6: Big over for Bangladesh. 12 runs off the over. Ban 45/2
5.5 Shahid Afridi to Sabbir Rahman
I wonder if he labels himself more a bowler because he can pull off those Star Man celebrations.
Over 5: 7 runs off the over. Ban 33/1
Over 4: 3 runs off the over. Ban 26/1
Over 3: 8 runs off the over. Ban 23/1
Over 2: 9 runs off the over. Ban 15/1
Over 1: 6 runs and a wicket off the over. Ban 6/1
0.3 Mohammad Amir to Soumya Sarkar
Amir’s pace is too much. Soumya’s feet betray him again. Pakistan are flying high. This was a length ball angled in at off stump, but the batsman is stranded on leg.
Pakistan scored 201 for the loss of 5 wickets at the end of their innings against Bangladesh in the second World T20 encounter at the Eden Gardens on Wednesday.
The pressure will be on the Bangladeshi batsmen now as 202 will not be an easy target, but the Kolkata pitch has turned out to be quite batsman friendly till now.
