West Indies bowlers produced an inspired performance to restrict Sri Lanka to 122/9 at the end of their innings in the World T20 match at Bengaluru on Sunday.

Over 19: 8 runs and a wicket off the over. SL 118/7

18.5 Russell to Kulasekara, OUT

Kulasekara swings to the leg side against a length delivery and loses his leg stump

Over 18: Big over for Sri Lanka as 14 runs came from it. SL 110/6

Over 17: 6 runs and a wicket off the over. SL 96/6

16.1 Bravo to Mathews, OUT

It’s a loopy full toss slower ball, it appears that Mathews loses it, is trying to duck out of the line and the ball deflects off his top edge to Ramdin. They are checking for the height. Mathews is down on his back knee by the time the ball hits his top edge. The third umpire has to consider what it would be in Mathews normal stance.

Over 16: 9 runs off the over. SL 90/5

Over 15: 8 runs off the over. SL 81/5

Over 14: 6 runs off the over. SL 73/5

Over 13: 2 runs off the over. SL 67/3

Over 12: 8 runs off the over. SL 65/5

Over 11: 3 runs off the over. SL 57/5

Over 10: 5 runs off the over. SL 54/5

Over 9: Two wickets went down in the over as Sri Lankan batsmen are struggling against Badree. SL 49/5

8.4 Badree to Siriwardana, OUT

Brilliant stuff from Badree, and Sammy for having the slip. He missed the first two, but edged his third. Pushing forward outside off and a neat snaffle to his left by Gayle

8.1 Badree to Kapugedera, OUT

Badree strikes again! Sri Lanka losing their heads with the pressure being applied. This was a head-up charge down the pitch, aimed his swing to the leg side. Missed. Ramdin had loads of time

Over 8: 4 runs off the over. SL 47/3

Over 7: 2 runs and a wicket off the over. SL 43/3

6.1 Badree to Thirimanne, OUT

Thirimanne has picked out point. Went for the drive, but could only spoon the ball into the off side

Over 6: 9 runs off the over. SL 41/2

Over 5: 2 runs off the over and Sri Lanka lose their second wicket. SL 32/2

4.5 Badree to Chandimal, OUT

Not much pace to work with, goes back and chops into the the first man, but there is cover behind him.

Over 4: 10 runs and a wicket in the over. SL 30/1

3.1 Brathwaite to Dilshan, OUT

That looked a bit leg-side at first glance but he’s gone lbw. Full, angling into the pads, Dilshan aims through the leg side but misses. The umpire takes a long time but eventually the finger goes up

Over 3: Only one run came from the Benn over. SL 20/0

Over 2: 6 runs off the over. SL 19/0

Over 1: Great start by the Sri Lankan openers. SL 13/0

West Indies will be looking to inch closer to a semi final berth when they take on defending champions Sri Lanka in a World Twenty20 Super 10 Group 1 match in Bengaluru on Sunday.

The West Indians showed ominous form in the triumph over England but the Lankans are expected to put up a stronger challenge to them.

Sri Lanka also had a winning start to the tournament as they defeated Afghanistan by 6 wickets.
