How much can you invest in making a single chicken sandwich? Andy George, a 28-year-old YouTube video channel host, has a surprising answer to that question – he spent six months and $1,500 (around Rs 1 lakh) to make a chicken sandwich.

A 16-part video titled “How to make a $1,500 sandwich in only 6 months” shows George making his sandwich from scratch. He grows vegetables, extracts honey, milks a cow, makes cheese, and processes wheat to make the bread required for the snack.

Uploaded on September 15, the video garnered nearly a million views in two days.

The ingredients for the sandwich included lettuce, tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, dill, peppers, garlic, sunflowers, eggs, salt, honey, wheat, milk, and a chicken.

George told ABC News the hardest ingredient to obtain for the sandwich was the salt (he travelled from his hometown of Minneapolis to the Pacific Ocean to collect salt water, which was then processed into salt), and the hardest ingredient to make was the mayonnaise.

His channel “How to Make Everything” documents the process of creating everyday items, including mechanical tools and suits. For his next project, George plans to travel to Mexico to create coffee and chocolate from scratch.
